Voyager - A Memorable Journey

I hate ends. And as they say every good thing has to come to an end, so is the case with Voyager, our Project. There are times when you really need to stop for a while and look back for introspection.

So, i think the time has come to look back at voyager and give it a bidding farewell, although GO LIVE is still few weeks away :)

As they say in IT, Documentation is the key to success for Project Management. So this blog is in a way documentation of my thoughts, and a tribute to all the friends i have made along the way.

I will follow a pattren, i think rather giving a general overall view , i will be a bit particular and share with you my views about everyone one at a time.
To begin with , following protocol, let me start with our Project Manager ( waise bhi appraisal time is round the corner :) ) , and then i will go randomly.

Peddiraju Sir- our Project Manager, the guy full of zeal and enthusiasm for life. Very approachable, never have let us feel how senior he is. Always supportive of us in every endeavour. We could not have even think of this Goa trip without his support and encouragement. Gave us full freedom in our work, which makes the delivarables more fun than work.

Lalit Bhai- the multitalented one, I really dont know what this guy is doing in an IT firm. A bundle of talent, an excellent singer, guitarist and above all a wonderful person. Whenever he is around, situation seems under control. has a terrific sense of humour coupled with the rustic touch. Because of him i have learnt so many things which is so necessary to survive in the game. He is someone i look up to, be it professional or personal front. It was a privilge to work with him. Very down to earth guy and always full of encouragement. A complete leader material ( and i dont mean political neta here :)) . Although, nowadays you can find him crooning the song .. zarooarat hai.. zaroorat hai ..:) guys.. what r u doing.. help him out man!!

Pranjal- my alter-ego, most dependable, charming and fun guy. Someone whom i think everyone likes in the team without any pretensions. his presense is so comforting, when he is around i am sure of one thing , the work will be done. Very intelligent and sharp and always around to help anyone he can. People say, you make friends for life only in colleges but i have made one ,while working. and mark my words this guy will go a long way in life ( lambi race ka ghoda hai)... only person who is a bit disappointed to miss the oppertunity to go to Mahabaleshwar Via Pune ofcourse ( no prizes for guessing why :)

Alaka- the bubbly one, this girl is real spark. So full of life. She comes like a breath of fresh air in the team. Although we hardly agree with each other on anything. But the best part is, she never keeps anything in heart. And that makes her gem of a person. "Krantikari" in her thoughts and as Lalit Bhai is so rightly worried about her influence on other unmarried girls. Always surprises and amuses with her guts and openness. An amazing dancer to begin with and the best cook in Hyderabad, am still looking forward to her invites ( hope this mention, hastens the process :) )

Shruti- the "ada queen", this girl is amazing. You rarely find her without a smile and that also an infectious one. I knowingly pull her leg all the time, but she really has patience. The inimitable style of speaking and ada is so unique to her. And was a discovery during our word game. A thorough researcher. you need any information bout any gadget or anything, she is the right person to get hold of. As a person, u cant better her. Very good at heart and she will always be at your side, come what may.

Swayam Bhai- ab swayam bhai ke baare mein kya kahen, he is more like a big brother. Always there to help you in anything. one thing i can never forget about him was the excitement and nervousness on his face when his " gudia" , as he calls her ,was about to come in this world. The feeling was so genuine and the happiness on his face was evident, that made me realize how great it must feel to be a father. A great human being, desi to the core. And has a " papa" effect , as was his name during college days, on the team. very logical, specially when it comes to shayari. Just hope when he is doing the post mortem of sher, the shayar must not be around, or else he is sure to get an heart attack :)

Abhishek Bhai- the almost perfect gentleman, Abhishek bhai is so close to perfection that it amzaes you. Very thorough and sincere in his work. Always speaks whatever is required. na kam na zyada. His knowledge of shers was a revelation to me. Has a huge database of shers and its accurate use at appropraite situation is just perfect. Very helpful, and is always there with his valuable advices whenever u ask for it. And as u get to know him, you understand how nice a person he is. It is just that i really avoid walking beside him, because of his height and my loss of it. I literally " look up to him" :)

Salman- the brat of the lot, this guy has style. The style bhai of the team, a very sharp and intelligent person. And his CAT score really surprised a few of us. A bit bindaas, and that really showed in the dancing steps the other night. Has a very stylish way of speaking english which is so very well mimed by our own alaka. Again his knowledge of shers really surprised me, and that really shows the depth of understanding this person has. He is fun to be around ( if u r really able to locate him, which Prasad so desperately tries to do in every morning call :))

Roja and Bhargavi- the adorable duo, however much i wanted to write bout them seperately, wasnt able to do so. You think of one and other's name automatically comes on ur lips. So pardon me for writing bout u together. Very friendly and adorable girls. Always wish you with a smile on their face. I think they are the most caring among the whole team. They always try to make you feel special. And whenever you need them, they are always there. Great to have friends with them. And very talented also, the other day i read the blog written by Bhargavi, it was so good. they have great ears for music and you can find them crooning songs when u pass their desk. And i must give them due credit for inspiration for writing this blog also. it was their mail which started the whole idea in my mind. ( hope, they are inspired to gift me something again)

Amrita- the Bindaas girl, this girl is really crazy bout bhangra. Her excitement was so evident the other night, when she was waiting for anything remotely similar like bhangra to start her dance.A typical punjaban, when you talk to her you seem like you are in patiala rather than in down south. My non-vegetarian partner at lunch parties. She is always on our side however much you tempt her with "ghaas phoos". Very zinda dil and full of life. Fun to talk and be with, and yes a very good cook also.

Shally- the Chidiya of our team, this name so very much fits her. Very cute, little baby of the team. As Alaka puts it, you can find her speaking and moving from one place to other like a bird. very soft spoken, and humble person. And yeah a news for everyone, abhi thode din pahle hi yeh "samajhdaar" bhi ho gayi hai. so beware ppl :)

Arun- the Organized one, very organized and keeps everything in order. Is so good at his job, a complete professional. Very helpful and a complete family man. god, he used to travel to Chennai every weekend. And i really liked the way he speaks, and specially when Lalit imitates him:). A complete "patnivrata" pati ( call me, if u do not get it). has a great sense of humour and cracks his oneliners with such a straight face that you just dont know where to see. You are always missed here, the torch bearer of veggy brigade :)

Tomorrow, we never know how many of us will be able to work together again in a team. But memories we had will always reamin with us, be it the Wednesday lunch party or the build up to Goa or the conference room games.

This blog was just a humble attempt to keep alive the memories of our togetherness, fun, joy and masti at the journey called "Voyager". And whenever in future if u read this and a smile comes to ur face, the whole effort was worth it!!!

Happy Reading!!!!

with lots of love and prayers!!!

The Beginning

Ibteda... Beginning... Prarambh...

After a loooong period of procastination, finally i am here... writing my own blog.. it has taken a while to start.. but better late than never.

Right now, i am sitting in my office.. with two calls going on simulatneously (me on neither of them :)) , trying to concentrate hard to write something sensible on my first blog.

Time and again the so called writer in me tried to outdo the lazy boy , but to no avail. But today without any warning words are just flowing out, however much i try to bribe them with a break of coffee.

i am writing in between running reports for Siebel Analytics, my bread and butter for now. Thoughts swinging like pendulum from one extreme to another , and at times it seems the whole blog will end up in foreplay only :) (one more pj)

Goa fever is catching up in our offiice, with everyone discussing the type of trunks to the brand of chappal to be worn on beach and even the 25 rupees goggles to be bought there. It was a roller coaster type of planning , with every possible twists and turns , good enough to make a bollywood potboiler, finally ending in zeroing down of Goa as the final destination.
The type of enthusiasm seen everyone's eyes reminds more as if a six is hit by venkatesh prasad ( i doubt if that has ever happened) rather than a project team going for an outing. But on a serious note, everyday is full of anticipation and excitement. The case in point is a last minute addition to the list of travellers through some divine intervention. ( see Shruti, i didnt take anyone's name)

Hoping that everything goes as planned, this trip promises to be a memorable one for all of us involved!!!!

I think it needs a more elaborate blog to do justice to the whole pleothra of activities going on.. which i will carry on in my next blog inshallah!!!

so signing off for now... will catch up with u ppl very soon...

till then

Happy Reading!!!!
